Happy Halloween!!!

Picking out the perfect "Puppy" (Pumpkin)

Mateo is on the prowl as a lion in search of some "Kah-Keh" (Chocolate)

A big Roar-out to Uncle Todd, Aunt Katie and Cousins Cody & Ryan for a very cool Halloween card that we keep hearing over and over and over again (see video)

All the blog entries follow a 2-month lag from when events actually took place.. like a daylight-savings-time-zone-leap-year thing... hopefully we get more time to post!

Here are some highlights from the Cheeks' first b-day a few months back

Summer Recap Part III: San Diego!

The Eichler family trip to San Diego happened back in July, but we're just now recapping.... in more recent news, the Cheek-man has been walking and talking. He is very interested in beverage containers and obese cats.

Some of his new words: "this", "rodilla" (dilla), "Mama", "Papa", "Emma", "Pulpo", "Reloj" (hhjjjhh), "agua", "baby", "Dayduck" (we think this is "Mateo"), "silla", "Boom Boom" (from "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom) and "Goooooooaaal!"

Next post will have some pics from his big numero uno b-day party

Milestone for the original Fat Maine Coon

Please join in wishing "Ga" (as referred to by Cheeks) a happy 9th birthday- Here's to nine more years of long exhausted naps and hairballs around the house.

When we are not doing socially healthy things like lighting candles in cat food, we are also hanging out with our 10 month old. Below is a catch up through May of what he's been up to

... crawling, eating, still waiting for teeth!

March & April (yes 2-3 months ago!)

When Cheeks ever looks back on this blog he is going to notice a common theme in procrastination. Even though we just started June, here is a recap on March & April:

- Papa took the Month of March off to bond (thanks California Medical Leave Act!) and attempted to grow facial hair

- The Eichler family went on a mini-vacation through Monterey and down to San Luis Obispo. Although Mo's BBQ location is now Peet's coffee, SLO still has its old mojo (and relieved to discover Mo's simply moved)

- The Cheeks mohawk continued to be in full effect

Will post some more recent updates and pictures soon (sound familiar?) Some recent news: Started crawling at 9 months, weighs 23.5 lbs, amused by fake sneezing

The below slideshow are some highlights from March and April (the top picture on this entry is from mid May)

Mama the Hero

It's just standard practice to start every blog entry with an apology for how long it has been since updating. The last month has had lots of action (just downloaded over 400 photos)... however this entry will serve as a denouement for the surreal episode that took place a few months back.

Many of you know about what happened in January at Campbell park.

A few months later the Campbell City council honored Leslie and Nicole with plaques for their lifesaving efforts. The paramedics and firemen involved that day were also on hand

Even more amazing, Claire and her family were in attendance. Claire is well on the road to recovery and was looking great!

Cheeks (who was on the scene in January as well) got in on meet & greet and photo opp....

We'll return soon with more exclusive Mateo content, but today's entry belongs to Mama!

March Madness!

OK so havent really been able to live up to the "one entry every 2 weeks" goal, but maybe someday...

The hair is quite a hit with the ladies and there is definitely a lot of personality developing...

The various faces of Cheeks:

*** Sympathetic ***

*** Serious***

***bashful***

*** Mischevious***

He had a great time on the swings at Campbell too:

And finally a quick catch up of some of the other things going on... hopefully we can post a video soon!

February Food

Food Haiku:

Been eatin' much food
Avocado, Pear & Squash
When I'm done I Squawk

Other than that I've just been doing my standard moves... grabbing/squeezing with my patented "eat your face" move. I almost weigh 20 lbs and I'm really into sitting up and punching toys

Here are more pictures of my latest activities:

New Year's resolutions!

Happy New Year!

Yes, Yes, Yes

It's been way too long since an update has been logged so hopefully we can catch everyone up over the next few weeks.

This latest installation will show some of the pre-Christmas activities and sometime in the next week or so will catch everyone up on Christmas, and maybe even some of the post-new years activities

In the spirit of new years, will commit to updating this blog at least 1x per month, but most likely at least every two weeks... we'll see if we can hold ourselves to this!
